OX Offroad Lockers internal gear sets are of a 4 pinion design providing maximum durability, with a timed locking mechanism designed to hold the internal gear sets in the strongest position possible when locked. The locking mechanism is a simple mechanical shift fork and ring design much like a manual transmission shift mechanism that has proven reliable it the automobile for over 100 years.

The internal shifting mechanism is 100% mechanical even when used with the pneumatic or electrical shift systems. Shifting actuation is accomplished through a shift fork mounted in a heavy-duty differential cover that not only engages the differential into lock but also adds rigidity and protection to your axle.
