Once a Jeep Gladiator moves into real suspension geometry, the factory fuel tank becomes the obstacle.

The Motobilt MB5083 Fuel Cell System relocates the fuel supply behind the rear axle so the rear of the truck has the space required for proper link separation, suspension travel, and drivetrain clearance. When building a Gladiator with a double triangulated rear suspension, the factory tank occupies the exact area the links and suspension components need to function correctly.

This system replaces the factory tank with an approximately 25-gallon aluminum fuel tank protected by a 3/16 inch steel skid plate. The design increases fuel capacity slightly over the factory tank while allowing the suspension layout to work without compromise.

The MB5083 was engineered to maintain factory fuel system functionality. The tank is designed to reuse the factory fuel pump and EVAP components, eliminating the need to redesign the vehicle’s fuel delivery system. A dedicated EVAP relocation bracket is included and places the canister in a protected and functional location once installed.

This tank integrates with both factory Gladiator frames and Motobilt bobbed bed configurations, making it a critical component for serious suspension builds where space and geometry matter.

Once installed, the rear suspension gains the room it needs to work correctly while fuel capacity and serviceability remain intact.
